Information We Share

Exploragen will not share any of your individual-level genetic information with any third party without your express consent. We may disclose aggregated and de-identified information about our users with third parties.  Aggregated and de-identified information is information that has been stripped of personal identifiers (e.g., name) and pooled with information of other users. We may disclose your personal, non-genetic information (e.g., email address) to our trusted contractors, service providers and other third parties we use to support our business. We contractually require these third parties to keep personal, non-genetic information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them. We may also disclose your information to: (i) comply with court orders, laws, or legal process, including to respond to government or regulatory requests; (ii) enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements; and/or (iii) if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect our or others’ rights, property, or safety.

We may also disclose your information to a buyer or other transferee in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, sale, or other transfer of some or all of our assets. Should such a sale, merger, or transfer occur, your information would remain subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

From time to time, Exploragen may update this Privacy Policy. If our information practices materially change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to our Site to notify you of these changes, and we will only use data collected from the time of the policy change forward for these new or different purposes. In the event we make a material change to how we use your personal information, we will provide you with an opportunity to opt out of such new or different use. The date this Privacy Policy was last revised is at the top of this page.

Exploragen will use your genetic information to provide you with relevant information that you have requested through our Sites or Services. In addition, Exploragen may choose to utilize and share aggregated and de-identified customer information for product improvement purposes. Exploragen will take reasonable precautions to minimize the risk of your personal identifying information being revealed.

In the future, you may be offered the opportunity to opt in to participate in additional research. Exploragen scientists may publish results from this research; when this occurs we may include your genetic and survey data but only as part of a de-identified summary of results to minimize the chance that your personal information will be exposed.
